How to Survive your Bathroom Remodel

At Arcadia Kitchen and Bath, our goal is to ensure your bathroom renovation is as smooth and stress-free as possible. We recommend taking certain steps to make this experience even more seamless.

Keep in mind, as we embark on this remodeling journey, our top priority is realizing your dream bathroom. Relax and trust in our commitment to your vision.

Once construction is scheduled, rest assured that all design decisions have been finalized. Up to this point, all the cosmetic choices for your new space have been completed and approved by you and it is time to take this project to the next step. Once a start date has been determined, take the week prior to field any questions you may have about the process and what to expect. This can be one of the most difficult parts of the process, so take a deep breath, and know that you’re in good hands.

Before construction begins, we suggest dedicating a day to clear out your bathroom. This is an ideal opportunity for decluttering, perhaps discarding items long forgotten in your vanity or drawers. It's also a chance to envision post-renovation changes, like new artwork or accessories, to personalize your renewed space.

Next, plan where to relocate your bathroom essentials temporarily. If you have a spare bathroom, it’s a convenient alternative. Otherwise, get creative – repurpose a dresser as a makeshift vanity, set up a toothbrush and handwashing station near your kitchen sink or powder room, and identify a quiet area for work or relaxation, away from construction noise. If you lack shower facilities, local gyms or rec centers might be a good temporary solution, offering the added benefit of stress-relieving workouts. Remember, it's okay to lean on friends or neighbors for support during this time.

Consider using the renovation period as an excuse for a short vacation, a welcome break to refresh and recharge. It’s never a bad idea to hit a little reset button in the middle of the process, even if it’s just for a long weekend.

Throughout this process, we maintain open communication for any questions or concerns you may have. Remember, the current state of your bathroom during construction is temporary. Keep reassuring yourself of the rewarding outcome awaiting you at the end of this journey. Just keep telling yourself, “This will all be worth it in the end.”
